Where did all those brands go?
Mostly out of business, aided by many factors, not the least of which was the Japanese could build it cheaper.
Some were purchased and merged into other companies. Some morphed into other brands.
David Hafler of Dyna started Hafler Amps. Etc, etc. Some products were no longer needed as systems changed.
Economics of scale became a huge factor. If you make thousands, each unit is cheaper to build than if you only make hundreds.
We lost a lot when we lost those companies. The same thing still happens today.
